My main worry about moving to underneath Jericho Coffee Traders on King Edward Street was that you guys wouldn't be happy with the move. However, without exception everyone has been totally cool about it so thank you! Flexibility of mind is so much more important than being able to touch your toes.
As I came into Oxford today from my remote little village nearby, I had a few missed calls from James who runs Jericho Coffee Traders. Uh Oh.
I was driving in (rather than taking the bus) and planning to just read about buddhism between classes to give my self a treat for the busy-ness of the last two weeks. Busy-ness including moving, finding a home for Yoga Quota, feeling homeless (which sucks as per my previous blog) being rejected, snobbed on etc. So I thought today would be a luxury day. And except for my cat being rushed into the vet this morning, it was turning out to be good. Until I got the answer phone messages.
James and the college needed tonnes of paperwork, wanted more money and were not happy with me having classes after the cafe hours (which sounded like all my evening classes- the popular ones- panic!). So from the answer phone message it looked like I may have moved for no reason! However, as always, face to face things are always better than they seem. I bottomed out what were the main concerns of the College and James and offered to cut my 1830 classes which would deal with both those concerns and the rent is totally reasonable. So we are all good and the learning from the starting up world is to talk face to face about big issues and to ask and check and ask again if things are ok before you up sticks and move your whole business. This probably should be obvious!
Anyway, thank you to all my clients who were booked into the 1830 candle lit class for moving to 1715 and thank you every one for being flexible about the move :) What stars!
Cat should be ok by the way.
