What a week! We'll have done 4 charity classes by the end of it...Cassie's Oxford Hub, my Steppin Stones the porch day centre for homeless people, Restore for recovery from mental illness and Yellow Submarine (so close to my heart!)
Far from my trepidation last half term before my first Yellow Submarine class I literally skipped and jumped to this class in the Hub in Witney where Anna was running a half term activity week for teens (11 - 18) with learning difficulties.
And the atmosphere was buzzing! Everyone was lunching, pop music blasting out, a sweet girl made me tea and another politely chatted to me about her birthday party plans where she'd love yoga (parental permission pending of course!)
The class was the usual exciting and laughter filled occasion I was expecting from Yellow Submarine! This time, instead of using real leaves for tree pose we made more of the warrior poses to trigger everyone's imaginations. Apart from me being slightly confused by one chap not letting go of my hand after I'd held hands to help him balance in warrior 3 (for what seems like 5 mins but probably wasn't!) it was smooth.
I was impressed by one of the girls who is graduating to being a leader of the Yellow Submarine work soon. She had gone to Yellow Submarine since 11 years old and was now 18 years old. She was so helpful and responsible...which shows how well Yellow Submaine develops the members.
Photo on its way I had a battery malfunction at our photo shoot afterwards!
