I've been meeting so many diverse people most completely new to yoga, and have been really moved by thier stories and reasons they have come... I'm sharing some highlights, hopefully you'll be inspired to try yoga too (anonymous of course) Ooo! and a really exciting new Community class booked in!
A lovely lady from South America came to Oxford to visit her talented son and discovered Yoga Quota whilst shopping. She used to teach English has been retired for a while and suffers from a sore back. Having never tried yoga before she has done 4 classes now and is addicted. She told me "the positive effects last for about 3 days for me! I feel open and good!". She's going to continue expecially when she moves to the USA next year!
A new Canadian Masters student, already totally hooked on yoga its popularity in Canada is renouned! Every class there has a hundred people in it (the mind boggles!) Comes to Yoga Quota for my sensible class sizes (my max is 8!) and the one to one treatment! She likes the convenience of the classes and the fact they don't over-run.
So many lovely students come in feeling stressed (I think it's week 2 so ramping up) rolling up from Savasana with a serene smile. A couple shared with me how they never switch off from the busy life ever, until their class in Yoga Quota. One yesterday sighed that she had to go to formal hall next and meet tonnes of Grad students but would rather float home on a stress free bubble! Another said he was ready to attack his 2 essays that evening.
I'm hoping to get a regular to share why they do yoga on this blog. Obviously I'm bias!
Some excellent news in the Yoga Quota Community Class world now too...
I have just booked in with Yellow Submarine, they work with Adults with Learning Disabilities in Oxford. But I'm doing a class with under 18s next Friday in their Half Term holiday. So that is going to be awesome! Some of the people have actually done yoga before but don't get to go to studio classes normally/often. Keep your suggestions coming in about where you want Yoga Quota to go. This fine suggestion was from a regular called Jim!
