We've all heard that meditation is good for us. For most people, it's a challenging practice even when they've got a few minutes spare. If you're looking for a quick boost of calm, Harriet's 4 tips are sure to help out!
1. Practice mindfulness: look up from what you're doing and notice 10 things you can see immediately around you.
2. Walking meditation: go for a short walk around your block (or bedroom), without distractions, and pay close attention. How your feet feel, the movement of your body, your breath, the noises you can hear and things you can see.
3. Count your breath: it’s harder than you think! Try counting out 5 deep breaths, then 10, then 15. If you lose count or get distracted, start again.
4. Hit up Yoga Quota’s Meditation Shorts and have someone do the hard work for you! 15 minutes of guided-meditation bliss that will leave you grounded and ready to go. Participating in our Meditation Shorts (like all our classes!) contributes to fulfilling our charity quotas. It's good for your mind, and good for the community!
