I was cycling back from Yoga Quota just yesterday, and popped into the office of the 'new job' to finish off something. And booming out of the office was some sort of Taylor-Swift-esque disco music. Not Ms Swift I'd have recognised her (unfortunately) but something else poppy. Unusual, given the techie/designer vibe in the office and near silence that the builidin usually works in.
So I made the time to seek out an talk to the music's owner. I met John my desk-neighbour having a little late work disco and assembling machines! He does some sort of video capturing of robots. Shamefully, I had worked next I him for a full 10 hours that day without making time to say hello. Bad Anne.
But we got talking then. After talking for some time about yoga and meditation (I didn't bring it up- honest but he did!!) John pointed me towards a meditation resource in Oxford every evening at 7pm. It's called Virparri Buddha centre have any of you tried it?
Well it's loosely related to yoga of course so I thought I'd post it because if you are a local or b into yoga you may have tried it or may be interested in trying it.
My first thought was 'when would I get the time to go to this meditation?' Closely followed by 'that's what I used to think about yoga and I made that happen' followed shortly by 'you've got to make time for these things'.
It's kind of the theme of the blog- making time to talk to your desk-neighbour, making time to do yoga for your own sanity, or meditation or whatever...knitting cycling whatever works for you! Making time to do charity yoga classes (I signed up another lovely Oxford yoga teacher this evening- she's taught here for 23+years!!! It's epic to have that sort of experience in the Yoga Quota team)
I wonder- how do you guys make time for yourselves? Do you? Any tips for the comments....?
