We did the hardest pose in Yoga tonight at Keen Oxford! Keen is a brilliant charity which provides social and sporting activities for people with disabilities.
And tonight we were doing yoga with Yoga Quota. It was brilliant that it was set in a context of healthy living , which is where yoga fits perfectly! So the first half was guessing the correct proportions of food groups, then a practical illustration of the food pyramid with plastic cups (building! Yey!). And yoga was the part where the physical body meets the mind.
We did a classic little routine and warrior poses and balances even a touch of Bakasana! But the hardest pose of them all....for teenagers, adults, disabled, able alike.....Savasana or corpse pose, the relaxation at the end.
Apart from a sneaky scorer who enjoyed a kip (the students who volunteer are at the end of term and are exhausted!) everyone was embracing the silence and relaxation. I was impressed!
I was asked back and I would love to return! Such an enthusiastic bunch of teens! Thank you Keen! Stay healthy!
