Last year we celebrated with lots of Goddess poses... this year...I'm looking at a thriving yoga studio of men and women practicing together, five kick ass strong women teachers, and lots of charity classes for women in need like Oxfordshire Rape and Sexual Assualt Crisis. Times are good to be a woman connected with Yoga Quota!
Yoga hasn't always been a feminine-tastic place to be. I mean in it's earliest times it was only guru and (male) students who carried on the tradition. Now, in the West we seem to need Bro-ga to get the balance back to more males doing yoga.
But Yoga Quota itself is a proudly positive place to be a woman practicing yoga, and definitely a positive place to be a woman working in yoga. I've personally loved the change that having my son has had on Yoga Quota, I've hired more fabulous teachers to fill the classes, and with that our community has grown and become stronger with more positives to come!
I wonder what next year's International Womens' day will bring?
