Anne- Literally half the time my husband is away with work. So he got us these etsy distance beads. Each bracelet has one bead from it's partner, you wear them when you are away from each other and always have a little bit of each other with you. We must be getting soft in our old age! Anyhow I'm also going to use them for meditation....
I also may use it for meditation. Currently I've been branching out from my headspace addiction and have been using a cheap version of a set of mala beads to meditate with (nothing fancy just a necklace from New Look or somewhere like that which looks like a mala bead necklace)
Mala beads have a tassle at one part of the string. And you meditate by chanting/breathing once for every bead you move through your hand. You start your meditation at the tassle, go all the way round the string of beads breathing/chanting at each bead and then getting to the tassle again finally.
Proper Mala beads have a particular number of beads on them. Mine do not they are just a fashion item, but hey ho I don't really get hung up on the nitty gritty of the rituals, chanting 87 times rather than 104 probably wont make a difference.
So I may use the odd coloured bead on my distance bead bracelet as the 'marker' for the meditation instead of the tassle. Only problem will be is I'll need to have my eyes open... not totally ideal but I'll give it a go and maybe let you know!
