It never goes to plan during the classes but with a rough scheme and importantly an amazing playlist, it still will be great fun!
I sort of have lots of 'modules' in my mind, like lego bricks, so that I can piece together a class in response to the people there on the day and make the class fit you.
One of my favorite elements of yoga teaching is designing the classes. Drawing up these lego brick modules for my classes with colleagues at 'The Old Job' gave me such pleasure!
Who will come? What should we do during the class? What experience will people have? What music shall I play? Are we working on a particular body part? Do we want to leave chilled or invigorated? What modifications shall I offer?
I'm getting the first week of classes designed this morning, over a cup of tea with my cat on my lap.
I'm particularly looking forward to the 'hangover cure class'. Saturday mornings at a range of times so you can pick the one that suits your severity of headache!
A couple of the ladies I sing with in choir have kindly offered to try this class for size tomorrow... their homework is to get trollied tonight so they're nice and tired for tomorrow. In reality it's more likely that they'll be exhausted because their babies woke them up 6 times during the night...but either works!
Well we'll see what the choir gals say...!
