For 6 lovely months I've been working with Lucy setting up our branch in Falmouth. We thought that this would be the way to expand the charity work UK, and although it has done lots of charity work in the area we also have managed to set up 3 "studio partnerships" elsewhere in the same time which has the same charitable impact but at the fraction of the cost.... so we have made the difficult strategic decision to go the "studio partner" route and shut down our Falmouth branch.
However! This doesn't mean Lucy and I are not friends. We will still be doing the SAME amount of charity work in Falmouth- we have a weekly Mind class there for Mind Carrick and Lucy has generously offered to do charity referral classes too where our charity partners refer people to her classes to practice for FREE alongside paying clients.
And she is taking on the Falmouth yogis down there and doing 3 classes a week... so you still get yoga down there!
Setting up businesses and charities is an organic thing, and we have to try out loads of things. We tried out branches and studio partnerships in parallel and studio partnerships have 'won'.
We have really expanded our Yoga Quota Subscribers due to the Falmouth branch launch.
We have honed a better strategy through this experience
We have gained a weekly class for people with serious mental health issues
We have gained an AMAZING teacher Lucy as a lifelong Yoga Quota devotee and set her up in her home town with lots of clients :)
So all good!
