At Yoga Quota, we’re all about having fun and making yoga accessible. This morning, I was able to do both of these things by teaching a free class for the Oxford Hub’s Happiness Project.
The Oxford Hub is amazing organization that aims to connect student groups across the city and coordinate activities between them. The Happiness Project is a 2-week event that seeks to increase dialogue around happiness and teach Oxford residents how to cultivate habits that contribute to their overall wellbeing. Nothing makes me happier than a sweaty and musical power practice, so I was honoured to be able to offer one to 12 students (many of them new to yoga!) at the studio. We practiced a dynamic flow together to some awesome indie beats, and tried a number of stress-reducing techniques such as breathing through discomfort and smiling through a tough warrior sequence. As you can see from the photo (apologies – it ended up a little bit dark and blurry!) we were all quite happy by the end of it! It was a perfect way to start the day.
