You've got to love boxers and Banbury Boxing club!

Set up about 18months ago by Ben Malcher who is a trained graphic designer and now works for Oxfordshire Youth. It's the coolest boxing club I've seen, in an industrial building, in Banbury centre. All ages can go and there are long affordable training sessions.

Ben tells me people come for various reasons: a let out for anger, an escape from work or home, a respite from bullys, or just for plain old fitness reasons- nothing wrong with that!

They were so up for yoga. I asked again about their preconceptions about yoga- and although the group were absolute beginners, they knew it wasn't just for men, that it was spiritual and that it involved stretching balance and breathing. We even got on to how it relates to Buddhism! It wasn't me peddling Buddhism honest it just came up!

So we did a quite a powerful class because even the teenagers of 13 were as strong as nails and they loved Bakasana! I did a routine that would strengthen backs an arms and quads...useful in boxing.

Ben wants me to come back, and I would be so up for that because they were an open minded bunch who tried everything with a smile!

Nice to meet you Banbury boxing club and thanks for the welcome!
