We’ve been making so many quotas we have made some really positive changes to make sure we meet them all. It's a nice position to be in to be fair! Find out about the changes and trials here!
The quota system really drives us forward to do a charity class for every 50 people who come. If you got our newsletter last month you’d have heard of the record month we had. The following Monday, 41 of you came in one day, pretty much a quota in a day. And in a world where we will be in a room with nearly double the capacity next year we need to make it practical to meet all these quotas.
This is amazing and exactly what targets are for!
So I have made two changes and our Trustees just ok-ed them at the Board meeting.
Subscribers – these are Yoga Quota teachers UK wide who join the movement, wear the badge with pride and commit to at least 4 charity classes over the year. I’ve made this process of joining easier. Ie free. Those who paid last year are getting a refund. We are changing the model a little so that YQ now can’t pay for costs of the classes (travel room rental etc) and cant now organise them for the teachers. But can give lot and lots of other support and training. Organising your own classes gives the teachers better ownership anyway. I’m excited about this. Cassie has helped me design a process which I think will really add value for the teachers, get us connected and talking and buzzing! It’s going to be so good!

Referrals – This is a new integrative model. Certain special charity partners will be given the chance to refer people to the studio so they can practice alongside the paid yoga quotees. This is really integrating the charity work with the studio. I’d love this to be a GP referral but first things first. We are just negotiating this with three key partners. It would involve a private familiarisation at the studio (1 quota) so people understand the lay of the land and feel confident to come and then a free 6 class pass for the person (6 quotas) to use anytime. I’ll probably add a low mobility class too and will be training the teachers to teach chair yoga in parallel to normal if that is needed. I hope students and charity partners will like this. I’ve been depressed, and when I was, my Dad (a psychiatrist), helpfully said that one in 7 of us are in our life times. That is a lot. So in each of our yoga classes we will quite likely have someone eligible for the charity partnership referral already. Partnered with a strong ‘Safe Space Policy’, which we enforce, we think this will be awesome for charity partners and paying clients alike. We’ll trial this and see your feedback. It is a very integrative and valuable step for the charity service users. I’m pleased that the challenge of meeting quotas has made us think of this sort of scheme.

Bring on more quotas and a more integrative world.
