Yoga is best when you set up some sort of regularity- but I know it's tricky to do this...especially if you miss a day... here are my tips to keep the regular practice up, I hope they help!
Don't Wait until Monday
Do you think to yourself, I'm going to do a vinyasa class once a day. It's going to be brilliant. It will transform me! I'll start on Monday....
Monday comes round and suddenly there are too many emails or chores to do your vinyasa class... next Monday??
10 minutes sun salutations is better than nothing. Even a wee spot of pranayama on your sofa. Fine it's not quite up to your intention, but it will stop that guilty feeling if the full class you want to do is just not going to happen today.
Embrace the night owl
If you are a night owl like me, then embrace it and schedule your yoga practice at a time that suits you. I know yogis who can get up at 6 am and smash out a power flow are amazing! And I know traditionally a nice sunrise flow is very 'yoga'....But if that is not you, then that is not you! The number of times I've hoped to do a early morning practice, and then snoozed through... believe me it's best to just know yourself and do it at 10 pm instead!
Pat on the Back
We all like a little well done. It is good to learn to give yourself a little gratitude, for the simple things like getting onto your mat and breathing. This helps even if it's a well done from yourself!
Hope these help
Let me know on the comments if you have other tips too!
If you are in Oxford and fancy setting up a regular practice, I've set up a 'New Years Resolution class pass to encourage you :) Good luck!
