Every month our studios take a theme and explore it in class. When I asked our teaching team what March's theme should be Sarah Durr our North American teacher immediately said.... "Freedom" here's why...
I might be the only one feeling this way, due to my home country's recent fascist policies (don't get me started).. but I've been trying to mindfully incorporate Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu, in my daily meditation. Its a bit long of a phrase, but the simplest definition is: Freedom for all.
Long version is "May all beings everywhere be happy and free. And may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to the happiness and freedom for all."
Freedom, could be the theme. Freedom to be ourselves, advocating for freedom of others, etc. Its both an internal mantra and external action.
