Did you know we're now running pay-as-you-can community classes? 100% of proceeds go to our charity initiatives. Find out more about these classes here!
Yoga is an amazing practice for mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Seriously - it can be life changing (ask any of our 30 day challengers and I'm sure they'll be able to confirm)! But, in the highly commercialised world of Western yoga, yoga is not accessible to everyone that could benefit from it. This is one of the main reasons we operate as a charity.
Recently, we realised that our model doesn't necessarily support everyone. Though we offer classes to underprivileged groups, people who are not a part of these groups and who cannot afford the big price tag often associated with yoga are still left out. Our solution? Pay-as-you-can community classes.
These classes run weekly every Sunday from 14:00 - 16:00 during Oxford University term times. All are welcome. Though we recommend a minimum donation of £5, we won't turn anyone away. Our goal, ultimately, is to make yoga accessible to as many people as possible. The funds raised from these classes also go towards making this a possibility.
How does it work? You just show up! We'll have you sign a waiver when you get to the studio and then you're good to go. Since it's first come first serve, we recommend getting there early. Harriet runs a by-donation meditation short from 13:05 - 13:20 every Sunday, so perhaps you can take this and stick around for post-meditation bliss yoga. :)
These classes are taught by certified instructors from around Oxford to provide people with teaching opportunities and/or opportunities for feedback from our highly knowledgable staff. Instructors are paid with a free class pass to practice with us, so they also get accessible yoga in exchange for making yoga accessible. It's a win-win-win... yay!
As always, we'd love to hear your opinion on these classes or any other feedback you may have.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
